cam: stitch fix experiment

My sister Lindsey told me about this online personal styling service for women called Stitch Fix. You sign up, fill out a detailed style profile and then get assigned a personal stylist who picks out and sends you 5 items of clothing or accessories based on your style profile answers. You can choose to have a package come as often as every month or schedule a "fix" whenever you feel like it. Each styling costs $20. If you decide to keep any of the items, that $20 goes towards the total cost of the items. If you decide to send everything back then they still charge you the $20. If you keep all 5 items, you get 25% off the entire cost.

Here's a peek at my first Stitch Fix experience!

"Your stylist thought these would look great on you!"
Item #1: Infinity scarf
Item #2: Skinny jeans
Item #3: Silk top
Item #4: Comfy top
Item #5: Drape front cardigan
I was delightfully surprised by the contents of my package, especially since Linds and I got very different things (she got a wrap dress, lightweight cardigan, earrings, red jeans, and a top). I've decided to keep the scarf and the sweater. The jeans reminded me too much of jeggings, the silk top was way too big, and I already own a gray top like the one they sent me, so I'm sending those three items back.

In addition to the clothes, they also send you some suggested styling options, an itemized receipt to see how much each item costs, and a pre-paid priority mailing envelope to make returning the unwanted stuff super easy!

I really liked that they give you the opportunity to give feedback on their styling so that they know what type of stuff to send (and not send) in your next package.

This was a fun experiment and I'm excited about my new purchases! I would definitely do it again sometime down the road, especially now that they have an even better sense of my style. Linds loved her experience so much, she signed up for a "fix" every month! Try it out for yourself!
